Weak point of this radio is power supply, right? Indeed, it's "BLACK BOX".

Regarding backlight, I understood how you did. The life time of EL panel is very short. But if dead suddenly, I guess something's wrong with connecting point, I mean, bad connection between panel and leads. In that case, we have no way to repair.

Instead, we can buy a new EL panel through eBay store from china. I ever purchased EL sheet with the inverter for my SUNAIR RT9000, Very nice itself, you can cut into any size by scissors. BUT, it took many hours for replacement due to LCD's structure. Very troublesome! That's why I just wanted to know your hardship on R1022.

Ad soon as possible I'll post some photos of the internal of circuits of diaplay.
I think is very hard to replace the original lcd with another similar.

How about TX's model number, serial number or out put power?

THE POWER OF EXCITER IS 100 ME BUT THE POWER OF COMPLETE TX IS 1KW.
The name OF EXCITER IS E 2000.
I have't the label of the total tx is missing!!
There is a version of 10kw.

E-2000's "E" stands for exciter, but why it's not E-1022??

In the photo posted by Lele seems solved the problem of the PSU manufacturer and Type. The MFG should be the RGM located in Genova/Italy and the type /P/N) is below but no readable on the pictures. The RGM is a big electronic custom company and probably again could have documentations. A tentative could be done
